McCoy's attachment

McCoy had the melt down of the century when I told him we washed his blanket. He's been by the dryer for about 10 min now waiting for it to be finished drying...poor kid.

McCoy loves taking pictures when he can see himself on the screen...can you tell?

McCoy's favorite things when trying to relax: his homemade hammock=blanket and my legs, his blanket and his monkey. He's loving life.

Wheeler Farms

After 5 years of working, Trevor's schooling and the lack of Saturdays we could spend together, it feels so good to know that we finally have every one of them together now.

Today it was a cute local farm. Every cute animal was there. McCoy enjoyed it and loved the outdoor adventures...and of course he enjoyed the tractors.

Happy 4th

There's something special about the 4th of July. The smell of summer, fireworks, BBQ, and sunscreen bring back some great summer memories for me.
We celebrated our 4th this year with the famous fireworks at Sugarhouse Park. It was great and McCoy absolutely loved the fireworks. He named every color and shape as they lit up the sky. He even tried his hardest to touch the fireworks. It was a perfect evening!
I love creating memories like these with McCoy. I hope he'll love this Holliday as much as I do.

Poor little boy

6:30 pm and he's a goner...swimming all day and no nap will do that to ya.

LA Trip

At the beginning of June, Trevor and I had the opportunity to take a trip just ourselves. Traci watched McCoy and we headed out to LA for the long weekend.
We made a similar trip last year but it was 9 days long, we brought McCoy...and we visited a lot more people. This time it was pretty short and low key but we went just to see Trevor's best friend growing up, Tom.
This was a perfect trip for us. We didn't have anything specifically planned. We relaxed the whole weekend and enjoyed spending all our time with Tom and his amazing girlfriend, Lauren. We didn't take a whole bunch of pictures but here are a few from our trip.

We spent a day in Old Hollywood. It was a great experience and surprisingly there was a lot of historical things to explore.
We had to visit the beach of course!

On our way home we unfortunately had some car issues. This kind guy stopped by to offer his assistance. We were so lucky that he was able to help us the way he did. He found the issue and fixed it for us at no charge. All the cash we had on hand was $23 and we felt it was not sufficient for his service that he had provided for us. When we offered it to him, almost in embarrassment for how little it was, this was his reply, "My wife and I are on the road so often that we don't get the chance to go to church. We always try and help anyone in need as our way of paying our tithes to the Lord." I was so impressed and even though we didn't belong to the same faith, I knew that he was trying to share the light he had the best way he could. No matter what religion you are or aren't a part of, there are still ways to share the light through what kind of person you are.

We couldn't have asked for a better trip. There were so many memories created and we had such an amazing time. Thanks for the great weekend, Tom and Lauren! Thank you for being great hosts and helping us to have a great get-away trip!
