I cannot believe how long I've gone without posting to the blog world. It's kind of sad and now I feel like I've missed so much posting it's intimidating to even know where to start.
First things first...Trevor and I are expecting baby #2 on June 27th 2013!! We tried getting pregnant for over 14 months with no success. It was pretty trying on my female instincts and hard to conquer positively each month. I obviously knew we could conceive because of McCoy but we weren't sure why it wasn't working out. We were given a lower risk fertility option called Clomid after the 13th cycle. You take the pill 5 days during the month. We did one cycle of clomid and ...it worked...Finally! I know we are so blessed to have an addition to our family. This experience definitely taught me tremendous lessons of patience and gratitude.
I was pretty sick again this pregnancy and props to all those mothers out there that do this so many times because taking care of a toddler while being so sick and tired is extremely difficult. Poor McCoy watched a lot of movies and Trevor was amazing to donate all the energy he had at the end of his work days to play with, feed, bath and put McCoy down for the night for about 2 months straight since my bed time moved up to about 7 every night.
Fortunately, Zofran, an anti-nausea prescription (which didn't take away my nausea but did help me keep food down for a couple hours), gave me a little relief with this pregnancy and I started to feel a little better and have a little more energy around the holidays (15 weeks along). I'm feeling pretty well now that I'm currently in my second trimester, almost 20 weeks.
We had our 20 week ultra sound this morning. We were able to see our little baby and find out what the gender is.....drum roll....IT's A BOY! We couldn't be more happy and excited for McCoy to have a little brother. Here are some of the fun pictures we got at the ultra sound.
We have had some pretty big mile stones in McCoy's life the past few months.
McCoy started Preschool for young 3 year olds in Januray. It's a great time for him to get out of the house in this cold weather and be social with other little kids his exact age. It's been good for him and he's absolutely loving it. His teacher, Miss Lisa always tells me how impressed she is with his sharing and loving nature with the other kids. She also says hes one of the few kids that actually says, "please, thank you, you're welcome." He makes mommy proud!
At the begining of this year McCoy moved from nursery to Sunbeams in Primary. He missed the toys the first couple weeks but he's loving it now and does so well. He has a great couple as his teachers that were preschool teachers for over 30 years. He's the only boy in his class and the youngest on top of it but he does well. This picture melts me heart and makes me realize my little boy is officially not a baby any more. He's growing up so fast.
And last but not least in the slightest, McCoy is officially potty trained! I cannot tell you how proud I am of McCoy for accomplishing this in the way that he has. We tried in December for 6 days hoping to get it done before the holidays and his preschool but it was a little too early and I was still pretty sick and tired at that point. When we tried again a few weeks ago it was like magic. He goes days without accidents and he is really good about telling me when he needs to go. He loves wearing underwear and going potty like daddy and Steele. They were the best examples for McCoy during this transition.
Trevor and I couldn't be more proud of him in every way. He's going to be a great big brother.
Im glad you blogged! I am so excited for you to have another baby!
