McCoy's 1st Halloween

Take a look at this clan...aint our outfits perrrrty?
Every time I look at my dress and Trev's tooth, I can't help but to just laugh out loud. McCoy, like always, was adorable and staged as a little chicken for a night. We had a blast at a Halloween party thrown by Jill and Micheal Taylor. It was a lot of fun and we got to see others' costumes.

Here's McCoy and Ruby enjoying the time together before we sent them off to bed so we could have some time with just the grown ups. Ruby was a sack of cash to go along with the 1920's Mobster (Craig) and the Flapper Girl (Kara). We were also joined by Cinderella (Jill), Prince Charming (Michael), and Mini Cinderella (Carmen). It was a blast.

We got McCoy and skeleton shirt to go along with our Halloween weekend. It glows in the dark and has candy in the belly. Look at how cute he is...Could you ask for a more lovable little boy? He's not so little anymore since he's walking like a pro now!

McCoy loves to read books. I have found that when he is getting unhappy, I sit down and give us some quiet reading time. I read the book and McCoy turns the pages. I think it's up there on McCoy's list of "favorite things to do." Check out this video of our typical reading sessions. (Link Below)

He has a new found love for this sippy cup. I think he feels cool drinking out of a straw. His little lips make it even cuter too!

I know, I know, probably something I shouldn't put on here but I couldn't help it since he's just the cutest thing in the whole world! We bought him this highchair and he loves it. He pushes it around all the time and laughs at himself while he does it.

Oh How Sweet the Memories

I told myself that I would never be the blogger that would write a novel on each of my posts, and I would only put pictures...hahaha well here it is. I just have to take the time to post on something cheesy and so real. It's what means the most to me but it's kind of long so, hold on tight! (There will be pictures though, I promise!)

Every day I keep telling myself that I'll treasure every moment I have with McCoy. Sometimes is hard in the crazy rushes of life but when I take the time to really think about how much I have in my life to be grateful for and to love, it really takes me by surprise how much I don't give credit to how amazing every day is. I love my family and I love them more every day. McCoy is the most amazing little boy. He brings a smile to my face not just a few times a day but more than I can count. He is so loving and innocent that it makes me want to set the best example for him. I want him to become the most amazing man just like any other mother would want of their son. For some reason I can't help but to feel like I want it more than everyone else. But hey, I also feel like there's no way any mother could love their son as much as I love McCoy. I know this isn't true and the love that I have for him is the same love that I know my mother has for me and the same goes for every other mother that I know. It's just another way of expressing how much I really do love my son, McCoy!! He's practically perfect in every way!

Tonight I went and visited one of my best friends. She just had a little boy, Jude Dylan Lye, this past week. It was almost sad to see how big McCoy was compared to him. I couldn't believe my eyes at the sight of this little infant in my arms. It really got me thinking of how much I miss when he was smaller and wouldn't try to crawl right out of my arms. But it got me thinking. I need to be better about living in the moment and not waiting for this or waiting for that. I have always said, "I love this stage that McCoy is in now, but I can't wait until..." Hopefully I've learned my lesson to just purely enjoy every moment of every sweet memory.

Ever sense I was a little girl I couldn't wait to be married and become a mother. Now that I have all of that I feel like I can truly enjoy it all with out wanting something else. McCoy brings me that greater satisfaction and joy of being a mother. Knowing that he loves me back is the best thing in the whole world. When he reaches for me, hugs me, kisses me and just needs me, it brings that joy that I couldn't wait for when I was younger. Love really is the greatest gift from God. I feel like I don't appreciate it like I should but I have to admit that McCoy had showed me how to love better than anyone else.

I hope that from here on out I can be a better mother and love a little more every day of my life. I won't wait for this, wait for that, or else soon enough, McCoy will be 18 and moving out of the house and I'll have no joy in the memories. Now, I'm going to just love it all!!!

So now here come the pictures that I promised:)

Grandpa Keith, Kim (GK), and Sophia came to town this weekend and it a was blast to have them here. We got treated to the BYU football game and McCoy absolutely LOVED the game. McCoy is definitely a people person and loves the big crowds. He loves when there's a lot to look at. He was so good and so happy the entire game. It did help that BYU won so it was a decent game for us as well.
McCoy loved riding on my shoulders. I think that was his favorite part.

Family Picture at the game...we all had matching T-shirts but you can only see a little bit of McCoy's.

Check out McCoy's extremely active eyebrows.

Like Father Like Son

Trev does a really good job of getting the videos that I always put on here. This one he took is a tad dark because McCoy was just taking a nap but I had to put it on here because there are times when McCoy wakes up this happy from his naps. His squeals, laughs and faces are hilarious! I seriously love this kid more than anything!!! (Link Below)

nine months

It's madness how fast the past nine months have flown by. It's crazy to think that my little boy has been out of me as long as he was in. It's insane how fast McCoy has developed, physically, mentally, and emotionally. I just love the little man to death and sometimes I just want to squeeze his guts out...not really but I really do love him to the bones. He's over 19 lbs now and eating his big boy food so much better. He sleeps through the night from 7:30 to 7:30 every day and takes amazingly good naps.

The newest and greatest is that McCoy took his official first steps the other day. It was official because no one was watching when he slowly let go of the sturdy object he was holding onto and took 5 steps. It was unbelievable and of course he won't do it again so we can get it on video but I just had to blog about it. I hope he doesn't try and really figure the walking thing out because that means trouble for us parents. Who knows what the future brings.

Is this not the cutest thing you've ever seen? Trevor found him like this while Trevor was letting him play around with his toys. He crawled all the way behind our entertainment center and was loving every second of it. I just can't believe that he didn't get stuck:)
Watching uncle Ryan play the guitar.
I couldn't help it...I know, kind of sad.

We made a trip to Costco with cousin Ruby. As you can tell, McCoy hasn't ever seen another baby sharing his very own shopping cart. By the end, he was enjoying the company.

While Trevor was watching McCoy he caught him looking at him self in the most peculiar way. I'm glad he got it on video because it is pretty darn cute. (Link Below)

McCoy still loves his baths more than anything. His new found love is the sponge that we catch him eating every once in a while. Pretty gross but he for some reason loves taking his baths with it. (Link Below)

Some how McCoy's crawling skills keep getting better and better. I'm sure they're just going to increase in speed so hopefully I'll still be able to keep up with him. I'm really afraid for when he learns how to walk....ok more afraid of when he learns how to run. Also, check out what McCoy does when he gets to the stairs. It's like he knows what will happen if he takes one more move towards them. He doesn't always do that but maybe he's learning. (Link Below)

BOO

McCoy has been doing the cutest thing lately. He's learned how to entertain us by playing "peek-a-boo." I love his cute little eyes when he plays. They light up with happiness every time he gets a reaction from us. I just love this kid! He shows me everyday how much he's learning and of course, how much he loves me:)

ps. on this movie, you can ignore my nasty white legs and really awkward position:) McCoy loves when I do this with him I just had to put this on here because of McCoy's laugh. I always do extreme things when I get home from work because of how much I miss him. I always get him really wired:)

Some random pictures of the chunk...
Do you like my foot?
I know...I have the cutest little champ ever!

oh happy days

Our wonderful weekend began on Saturday with an amazing walk down the Provo River's trail. McCoy, of course, loved the water and the walk was even better. Every time we go outside, McCoy's little eyes light up. Here's some more pictures of our little family and also a cute video of him on the swing--another thing that McCoy loves.
(Links below)

Our next exciting adventure was CAMPING!! We all had a blast! It was so fun to spend time with Kara, Craig and cousin Ruby doing what we all enjoy so much! We found this hidden camp ground up the alpine loop and it was so secluded you wouldn't have even noticed that it was a holiday weekend. There wasn't a person or sound anywhere near us. It was the perfect get-a-way for all of us. McCoy loved to get nice and dirty and mom didn't even care:)

Our campsite---couldn't have gotten any better than this!
Trevor had the best time burning this bucket on the last day. He said he didn't want it anymore and wanted to see what would happen. It actually burned better than any of the fire wood we brought. Fire has got to be the best part about camping and McCoy already had his eye out for it. Anytime we were next to it, he was always staring. Here's a video that reminded me of something my dad would record on our home videos growing up. It's got such a "home video" feel to it, I just had to put in on here. (link below)

chillin' by the fire
After we left the campsite, we headed down to Vivian Park for lunch. This too was a blast and McCoy, like always, loved it!

slide action

This weekend kept getting better and better. It's sad to see that it's already over but it was a BLAST and McCoy is creating all these memories with us...and now there's a blog about all of it, so we'll be sure to never forget it!

this is what makes my life beautiful

I can't tell you how much these two mean to me. This is what makes my life beautiful! Just the thought of them brings such joy and happiness to my life. Everyday McCoy does something to surprise to me and make me love him that much more. Trevor has been such a good support with taking care of McCoy and the way he loves McCoy means so much to me. He's such a good dad and does everything that I ever ask of him. He's the best husband and McCoy is the best son. I have the perfect little family and I couldn't ask for more.

So now that the cheesy part is over, I just had to post on what happened today. I went shopping for the first time in about a month. It was pretty intense and I made sure that I got the best deal on everything by price matching at Wal-Mart. It really saves a lot of money but takes a lot longer to make the list and do the shopping. The shopping part can be really hard especially when McCoy needs to come with me. He's the cutest attraction at the store but after about 1 hour, he's usually done and then even more done about half way through. He was such a good sport though. I got to the check-out and by this time he had a really runny nose, poor guy. The nicest lady behind us realized how much I had ahead of me before we could get out the doors and she took the fun opportunity to entertain him. She was really sweet and it helped out a lot to just get all the groceries on, off and back into the cart while McCoy was happily making this lady's day with his special smiles and giggles.

When I got home, I had about 8 trips up to my apartment on the 3rd floor. The first load I brought McCoy up and then got him entertained so I could run back down and up, and down and up...and so on. Anyway, when I got the last load up, I found McCoy like this.....
I couldn't help but to take a picture...and lots of them
I just love this kid. I can't explain it any better. He means the world to me and something as simple as this is what makes my life beautiful!

The other night Trev was taking pictures of McCoy after his bath. He loves his baths and he is always so happy and in such a good mood. We made sure they were "G" rated so I couldn't help but to put them on here...and again, this is what makes my life beautiful!!!

increda boy

Over the past month McCoy has learned how to do so many new things. He's now 8 months old and never been cuter. I swear he could be the next "super baby." We love watching him grow and learn new things every day. The past few days he has been taking slow gasps of air to make a high pitch sound and then he'll laugh if anyone is watching him. He's learned how to be the show piece of everyone's lives. He has grown to be the master of attachment. Any time I am around he wants to be right there with me every step of the way. If I'm not paying attention to him, he's climbing up my leg. I swear I can't get anything done unless he's sleeping. But it melts my heart when I know he wants me so badly.

These two little items you see in his mouth are sticking out a lot more now, I think he might even be getting another one because, oh man, the slobber is just a flowin' out of this kid's mouth.
McCoy has the cutest little smile that will melt anyone's heart. Now that he has those 2 little bunny teeth that stick up anytime his little mouth opens up, it's even more heart-breaking. He knows just how to get you to love him even more, just when you think you can't. Every little thing that he does makes me smile, laugh and want to squeeze hm because he's so adorable.

He's a true boy! Likes to climb things, crawl as fast as he can (followed by loud huffs and puffs as if he can't go anymore), he finds things to put in his mouth all the time, gets hurt and has scraps and bruises from his daily adventures.  I've even  noticed that he really enjoys playing with balls. It's crazy how that works out. If there's a whole variety of toys around, he will always head straight for anything that's a ball, shaped like a ball, or could be tossed and thrown like a ball. The other day he was entertained by a little football for at least 30 min. He's growing up to be a daddy's little boy sooner than I thought. It makes Trevor proud to see his little boy becoming his little boy.

Trevor took this clip of McCoy and his talent. He only does it when he wants to and only if we're lucky. I think it's amazing that Trev actually got it on video.  (Link Below)

McCoy's hair tends to grow only in the center over his crown of his head. It started to look like an actual mo-hawk. So, we decided to give him a little trim. He's had one before but he never reacted quite like this. It's almost as if he didn't know what to do but try to put his head down to avoid it. He did pretty good but in the end he just wanted to get out. The second clip is the end result but he wasn't too happy. At least it looks better now. We cut off probably 1/2-3/4 inch of hair and he still looks like he's got a full head of it.

the end result

Like father like son

"Mom, we have nothing to eat."
McCoy can move around the house pretty well now. He moves from the couch to the coffee table with no problem. Once he gets there, he'll side-step all the way around it. He crawls like a champ too so he can entertain himself better now.

Check this out. McCoy has started making his way up the stairs. You have to watch until the end because McCoy is so funny when he see's Bronco, the family dog.
