There's something special about the 4th of July. The smell of summer, fireworks, BBQ, and sunscreen bring back some great summer memories for me.
We celebrated our 4th this year with the famous fireworks at Sugarhouse Park. It was great and McCoy absolutely loved the fireworks. He named every color and shape as they lit up the sky. He even tried his hardest to touch the fireworks. It was a perfect evening!
I love creating memories like these with McCoy. I hope he'll love this Holliday as much as I do.

LA Trip
At the beginning of June, Trevor and I had the opportunity to take a trip just ourselves. Traci watched McCoy and we headed out to LA for the long weekend.
We made a similar trip last year but it was 9 days long, we brought McCoy...and we visited a lot more people. This time it was pretty short and low key but we went just to see Trevor's best friend growing up, Tom.
This was a perfect trip for us. We didn't have anything specifically planned. We relaxed the whole weekend and enjoyed spending all our time with Tom and his amazing girlfriend, Lauren. We didn't take a whole bunch of pictures but here are a few from our trip.
We spent a day in Old Hollywood. It was a great experience and surprisingly there was a lot of historical things to explore.

We had to visit the beach of course!
On our way home we unfortunately had some car issues. This kind guy stopped by to offer his assistance. We were so lucky that he was able to help us the way he did. He found the issue and fixed it for us at no charge. All the cash we had on hand was $23 and we felt it was not sufficient for his service that he had provided for us. When we offered it to him, almost in embarrassment for how little it was, this was his reply, "My wife and I are on the road so often that we don't get the chance to go to church. We always try and help anyone in need as our way of paying our tithes to the Lord." I was so impressed and even though we didn't belong to the same faith, I knew that he was trying to share the light he had the best way he could. No matter what religion you are or aren't a part of, there are still ways to share the light through what kind of person you are.
We couldn't have asked for a better trip. There were so many memories created and we had such an amazing time. Thanks for the great weekend, Tom and Lauren! Thank you for being great hosts and helping us to have a great get-away trip!

Morning boy
McCoy slept until 8:37 this AM. This has never happened in the history of his life. We just ate some "marshmos" (Lucky Charms) and now we're watching some toons. I'm loving being a full time stay-at-home mom!
shopping trip
We did a late night shopping trip last night. McCoy fell in love with this little chair at first sight. Too bad it was so pricey$$.

What a sweetheart...
McCoy looks at our wedding book at least twice a day. While looking through it he kisses the pictures of mommy and points out those in his family that he knows. I knew there was a reason we paid so much money for that book. He just loves mommy and daddy so very much.

Out newest niece, Indiana (Indy) Hobson was born yesterday June 12th. She was 7 lbs 7 oz 19.5 inches long. Mccoy loved her. He was mostly excited to see Ruby at first, but when he got the chance to hold and love Indy, he was so cute with her. He loved her, pet her, kissed her and was so sweet and soft with her. Made me realize that much more how much I want to have baby #2.

McCoy and his new best friend...
He has such a sweet heart and couldn't help but to love this little birdie. This poor bird was injured outside my parent's house so my dad of course made sure he had a nice little home with everything a little bird could need. McCoy absolutely loved bing able to hold and play with him.

I have a "love-hate" relationship with blogger. I love being able to keep a journal of our lives as well as share our memories with others. At the same time, I feel overwhelmed when it's been over a month since I last posted and I have a ton of photos, videos, and stories to post on. I've decided I just need to tackle it once and for all but a little at a time.
During the month of March, we stayed at Traci's house for 3 weeks while her and David went to Spain. This gave us the chance to enjoy the amenities of a home with a yard and a true neighborhood. During these 3 weeks, McCoy became pro at riding his little bike. He actually became obsessed with it. Trevor and I are both very proud of how well he rides it and how quickly he became an expert at it. You'll have to check him out in these movies. Don't be fooled by the high-speed: he really does ride pretty speedy.
While at Traci's we went on a walk almost every single day. McCoy of course loved it every time. We had a great time checking out the neighbor's horses and seeing all sorts of new bugs. Here's a movie of McCoy checking out a bumble bee while on one of our walks.
The biggest thing that has happened to us in the last little while is that we moved. Yep that's right. I, me, Heidi, do not live in Orem, UT anymore. I've lived in that city for my entire life and have not known anything else. I guess McCoy hasn't either. He's lived in our Orem apartment his whole life as well so it's been a change for all of us.
Trevor received a promotion in his career with MBK and was transferred to another location. So once the time came we decided on the apartment and started packing. We are now officially Salt Lake City residents. We moved all in one day with the help of family and friends. It was such a huge blessing to be able to count on our family and friends to tackle this project. Our home is all unpacked now and we're living happily in our beautiful apartment community called Cobble Creek Apartments. The apartment is nice and new, and the grounds are naturally beautified.
As you can tell, McCoy has adjusted pretty well to the new apartment. He still has his days and occasionally asks to "go home," but it never lasts long and it gets better every day. Of course there are the ducks, rivers, rocks to throw, sandboxes, and a great pool to distract him from those moments he has.
When we have our apartment up to standard, I'll post a few pictures of our upgrades.
It's been great and so far I love being a part of a new adventure with our family. We're happy with our move and so grateful for our blessings we see each day.

Sundays
I love Sundays. I always have. We have 9 o'clock church and I personally think it's the best. Nothing beats a Sunday afternoon nap after an awesome bike ride and a picnic at the park.
